About the Producer

Behind every successful podcast is someone responsible for how it actually comes together.

I’m Travis Dempsey — a podcast producer and audio professional who has been producing podcasts since 2006, long before podcasting became mainstream. My work spans music production, audio engineering, and long-form content creation, experience that directly informs how I approach podcast production today.

AMP Music Lab exists to give podcasters access to experienced production guidance, not just equipment or file delivery.

Producing podcasts before there was a playbook

When I began producing podcasts in the mid-2000s, publishing required hand-coding RSS feeds and manually submitting shows to early platforms. There were no templates, no automation tools, and no established best practices — only problem-solving and experimentation.

That early experience shaped how I think about production. It taught me how systems break, where friction appears, and why many shows stall despite good intentions. Those lessons still apply today, even as tools have improved.

Podcasting may be easier to start now, but producing a show that lasts still requires structure, judgment, and consistency.

Experience at scale

Over the years, I’ve worked inside high-volume production environments, supporting podcasts that publish consistently and operate at scale. That means managing workflows, anticipating issues before they surface, and ensuring quality doesn’t slip as volume increases.

Producing at scale teaches patterns you don’t see when working on a single show. You learn what actually matters, what can be simplified, and where most podcasters lose momentum.

That perspective is built into every project at AMP Music Lab.

What “producer-led” really means

A producer’s role isn’t just technical. It’s responsibility.

As a producer, I’m accountable for:

  • how a show is structured
  • how the production process functions week to week
  • how audio quality is maintained
  • how publishing stays consistent
  • how the process supports the host, not overwhelms them

Clients don’t need to manage tools, chase steps, or troubleshoot workflows. My role is to guide the process so the podcast remains sustainable and focused on the conversation.

Why AMP Music Lab exists

AMP Music Lab was built to serve podcasters who want more than a room to record in or a checklist of services. It’s for people who want their podcast handled with care and intention.

Whether recording in-studio or remotely, every show is approached as an ongoing production — not a one-time project. The goal is to help podcasts launch cleanly, sound professional, and continue without unnecessary friction.

Who I work with

I work with:

  • business owners building authority through podcasting
  • professionals sharing expertise and perspective
  • creators who value consistency and quality
  • brands looking for reliable production support

If you’re looking for a purely DIY solution or a transactional edit-only service, this may not be the right fit. If you want guidance from someone who’s been responsible for podcasts working over time, that’s where I’m most helpful.

Let’s talk it through

If you’re considering a podcast — or looking to improve an existing one — the best place to start is a conversation.

We’ll talk through your idea, your goals, and what level of production support makes sense. From there, we can decide whether working together is the right next step.
